  • Dairy: Margaret McCarthy- MCCarthy's Ice Cream
A concise definition of ‘artisan food’ is hard to find, but at Listowel Food Fair it implies that food producers bring a skill and/or craft to handmade foods and beverages. The level of skill or craft will vary greatly, but the personality and passion of the food producers tend to shine through.

This year we introduced categories to the competition, to ensure a fair event for all participants and also to enable our panel of judges to give due consideration to the different food and drink entries. The categories are:
  • 1. Ingredients, Condiments, Preserves & Salad Dressings
  • 2. Baking and Baked goods
  • 3. Beverages
  • 4. Pâtés, Meats and Seafood
  • 5. Dairy
Entries in each category were judged by:
  • Flavour
  • Appearance
  • Packaging and/or name
  • Innovation
